Why Use Our Local AI PDF Summarizer?
Most AI PDF summarizers upload your sensitive documents to remote servers (like OpenAI or ChatGPT) and charge you subscription fees. MyPDF takes a different approach: we use cutting-edge WebAssembly technology to run an advanced NLP AI model directly inside your browser.
100% Privacy: Your files never leave your device.
100% Free: No API keys, no billing, no subscriptions.
Offline Capable: Once the AI model is cached in your browser on your first visit, you can summarize PDFs without an internet connection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the initial summarization take time to load?
To run the AI completely offline and on your device, your browser needs to download the AI summarization model (about 240MB) the very first time you use the tool. Once downloaded, it is cached locally, making future summarizations instant and offline.
Why does the summary look weird for resumes or lists?
AI summarization models are trained on articles with natural paragraphs and sentences (like news or essays). Resumes, which are heavily formatted with bullet points, short phrases, and disjointed dates, lack this natural flow. As a result, the AI often struggles to parse the context and may "hallucinate" or generate incorrect summaries. We recommend only using this tool for standard document types.
Is there a word limit for summarization?
Yes. Because the AI runs strictly on your device's hardware, it has a "context window" limit of approximately 1,000 words. For large PDFs, we recommend summarizing it chunk-by-chunk, focusing on the most important sections (like the Introduction or Executive Summary).
What if my PDF is a scanned image?
No problem! Our tool uses built-in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to accurately pull text from scanned images before handing it to the AI for summarization.
Is it safe to summarize confidential PDFs?
Absolutely. Your PDF document and its text are never uploaded to our servers. The AI processing occurs 100% on your local machine using JavaScript.
